When we do things because we ‘should’ and try to earn closeness with God, we may get our identity from our habits rather than staying focused on the Gospel. Stop doing Christian ‘things’ and start pursuing the Spirit of God.

Imagine a road with two ditches on each side represented by legalism on one side and self-indulgence (hedonism) on the other side. Our challenge is to walk on the road without slipping into either ditch. Take a step back from what we are told to do and ask yourself, “Is this where I am experiencing God?” Discover how you best connect with God.

God calls us to be part of a community of believers because it’s good for all of us to be able to lean on one another. But engaging in community can look different for each of us. Whether it’s one on one or being in a group of a hundred people, find ways to be in community that works best for you
