INSTANT TAKEAWAYS

1 | GRACE

Not enough can be said about giving each other grace in your relationship. Whether you’re newlyweds or you’ve been married for 50+ years, grace needs to abound in your relationship. You have to be willing to dig into those uncomfortable places, you need to be able to have honest conversations with each other laced with that grace. Pursue each other with grace.

2 | Don’t Forget that Marriage is Designed to be sanctifying

We all struggle in marriage with our selfish desires and things pulling us in different directions. The world cries out that we should be this thing, or focused on that thing. But don’t lose sight that marriage is designed to bring us closer to God. It is something that is set aside and holy! Pursue your marriage with humility and keep your eyes fixed on Christ.

3 | Be Reflective

Aaron makes a very great point about how it is best to look inward when there is an issue. When you are addressing an argument or a point of conflict, it’s imperative to start with I. How am I reacting to this, how have I played a role in the problem here. When you’re able to look at the issue, from within, it will help you address the other person with kindness and grace as you’re looking to move forward.

SHOW NOTES

Welcome back to Uncharted, thank you for sticking with us through this crazy 2020. Today, we’re going to talk about what it’s like to develop a new relationship with your wife and what it means to young men to pursue mentorship. Admit it guys, sometimes we’re in a tough spot with the world where we’re expected to know everything and do things on our own. But that’s not how we were created, and that’s not what we were meant for. We’re meant to have guidance, brothers along this journey with us to show us the way and to provide support where and when we need it. Don’t miss today’s episode as Colin McFarland solo’s this episode with a couple of his buddies, Aaron Harder and Lucas Avery.

Also, stay tuned for the end of the episode as Colin and Danny run through their Rushmore of Quarterbacks.
