In this episode, Mandy talks a lot about asking for support from her friends and other family members in praying for her, listening to her, in the trying times of motherhood. The other amazing thing is that God promises we aren’t alone in our struggles and fights. Mandy talks about turning to prayer and her faith whenever things got rough (and thanking Him when times were easier), and He is always faithful to us

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. | Proverbs 3:5-6

2 | Idols can TAKE ANY FORM

Mandy does a really good job at breaking down modern idolatry. Often times, we think of Golden Calfs, or replica’s of gods in people’s homes as “idols”. But, idolatry can take a million different forms. When you define yourself by your job or your passion, that can be your idol. If you make trump decisions based on money if your life, you are idolizing money. If you are first concerned with a horizontal relationship, here on Earth, above that of the vertical relationship with your Heavenly Father, you are idolizing that person or that relationship. In this case, Mandy was idolizing her daughter, and her relationship with her daughter, as I’m sure many of us do without realizing. It’s easy to fall victim to this with a loved one, family member, friends, etc. Make sure, that above all else, you are pursuing Our Father. Make sure that you are chasing that relationship, that closeness, above all else. Your vertical relationship with Our Creator should be what defines everything else in your life.
