INSTANT TAKEAWAYS

1 | DISCIPLESHIP IS KEY

The whole idea of older women mentoring younger women and coming alongside them to do life with them is sorely needed in our world today. As the coming generation continues to grow, the lessons and wisdom from the previous generation become key in our spiritual growth with Christ. It is one of the most desired avenues of community time and time again. When we have the tools, leadership knowledge, and access to resources in our own lives as we begin to take ownership of our faith, we are able to continue in developing a relationship with Christ. When there is growth and nurturing in your personal life, at home with your family, behind closed doors, our next generation can learn how to, “feed themselves” from the Word, so they don’t become stagnant on their walk. It’s definitely a two-way street, we crave mentors the same way that they desire to mentor.

2 | LEADING SHOULD TAKE US OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE

When we are put in charge of others, we often don’t think of the situations that are going to stretch us. Good leaders are those that model the culture that they want to see implemented. They partake in growth and actions and behaviours that stretch and push them towards avenues that are desirable, not those that are comfortable. And we’re often not able to realize we’re in those positions until they’re right under our nose. Jesus is guiding us constantly on a path that he’s laid out for us, a path that is designed for our success. The more we lean into him in times of uncomfortable growth, the closer we become to modelling his characteristics daily.

3 | WHEN IN DOUBT, PURSUE AUTHENTICITY

One of the things that teenage girls are really good at is sniffing out things that are not authentic. We are constantly bombarded through numerous media platforms, daily, about the pursuit of these intangible goals. We always hear you should be more this or more that while being less of another thing. It can truly be exhausting. Just remember that we are called to be authentic. We are called to build relationships with others and love them as Christ has loved us. Plain and simple.

SHOW NOTES

Welcome back to Anchor + Waves as we go into Part 2 of our series on Legacy, following Part.1- our interview with Lawanna Busby St. Clair. Today we’re speaking with Breez Marker and Kristen Sands, two of our young adult leaders for our High School Bible study, “BRAVE”. Listen in as we discuss finding your voice amongst peers, walking with Jesus when it’s tough, and how to lean into your family in Christ.

Our goal is to help us look either forward on the pathway that we’re looking to take with Christ, or to look back at where Christ has taken us, and reach out to those that are in need. Today, we really push into what it means to put yourself in correct standing with Christ so we can be the next generation of Christ Followers for this world.
