The MOPS community at Mission Hills is a dynamic group of women who share the life stage of mothering young children. The theme for MOPS this year is “Free Indeed” and we will be exploring what it means to truly live free/ It is our desire for you to embrace this stage of life, learn and grow and ultimately flourish as a mom.

Join us for our annual kick-off brunch as we introduce this years’ theme “Free Indeed.” Meet your small group leader and mentor and get acquainted with the other ladies in your group. A fabulous brunch will be served.

October 2 // FREEDOM TO TAKE A BREAK
Guest speaker, Brit Stueven, started a social experiment based on break-taking and accountability and it turned into a life-changer for many around the world. Taking 10 intentional minutes a day to refuel can change everything. Come join us and learn how to take a break.

October 16 // FREEDOM FROM CLUTTER
Lindsay Cleveland, a professional organizer and owner of the company Life. Organized, is our speaker. Lindsay will share with us creative and effective ways to clear out the clutter and get organized.

October 30 // VIDEO AND DISCUSSION
We will also be participating in our annual tradition of shoe box assembly for Operation Christmas Child.

November 13 // FREEDOM FROM MONEY STRUGGLES
Kristy Marshall, money coach and founder of Money Bliss, will share with us strategies to help us overcome common money struggles.

Girls – Get your pink on and join us for a fun game day, with door prizes, and a special brunch (of course, we will have bacon! ). A fun relaxing morning to start the new year.

Freedom comes from knowing and accepting that we are exactly who God created us to be. Using the Strengths Finder assessment as a guide, Janis Kugler, MOPS Mentor and Gallup Certified Strengths Finder Coach, will help us discover our strengths and apply them to joyful living and effective parenting.

February 26 // RAISING KINGDOM MINDED FAMILIES
Sometimes in parenting little ones, it’s easy to settle for just getting them to “be good,” but we are after more than that. Coletta Smith, our lead pastor’s wife, will join us to help uncover ways to guide and inspire our family to think beyond themselves and to embrace God’s priorities as they learn to live for Him.

April 16 // OVERCOMING IMPATIENCE
Guest speaker Dale Wilsher will help us overcome impatience. We all lose our patience sometimes, but how do we stop reacting in anger and start responding in truth? Our emotional brains can trigger us to react defensively and keep us stuck in impatience. Learn how to engage our thinking brains to look at the reasons behind our impatience and to guide
us to rational, loving parenting solutions.

April 30 // HELLO, BEAUTY FULL
Renowned author and speaker Elisa Morgan spends the morning with us, sharing from her latest book Hello, Beauty Full. Elisa is a dynamic communicator who will inspire us through personal stories and God’s word to see ourselves as God sees us. RSVP is required for childcare this morning.

MOPS For Working Moms

Are you a working mom? Do you have young kids from newborn to kindergarten? We have a great community for you! Join us for a once-a-month Saturday morning MOPS experience specifically designed for you. We will have speakers and discussion topics relevant to working moms – all to inspire, equip, and encourage you to flourish in your work/life mix.

November 11 // LOVE AND LOGIC WORKSHOP
Miki Kellerman is a long time educator and school administrator in the Denver area who also teaches Love and Logic curriculum. Her workshops are a perennial favorite at Mission Hills. A significant question and answer time will be provided.

December 2 // FREEDOM TO RELAX
This morning is designed with a busy working mom in mind. Join us as we provide a time for you to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. Come in your yoga pants, and enjoy a morning led by Crystal Boecker, a certified Pilates instructor. A healthy breakfast will be provided. This will be a great way to kick off the holidays.

January 13 // UNDERSTANDING POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY
Mary Anderson Schroetter is our guest speaker. Mary is a licensed social worker and mom to three children. She is passionate about providing education, raising awareness, and reducing the stigma associated with emotional distress and mood disorders that can affect one in seven women in pregnancy and postpartum.

February 10 // A THRIVING MARRIAGE
Rachel Haley returns to give us tips on how to manage our busy lives as working moms and still have a thriving marriage.

April 14 // A DAD PANEL
This is your chance to ask questions that you may have about parenting from a man’s perspective. We have an awesome group of men willing to share with you their thoughts and ideas about parenting. A special brunch will be served.
