Local Outreach

Serve Local

We want to encourage you to share your time with others – reaching out either as a one-time event or on an ongoing basis.  Mission Hills women are proactive about reaching out with Christ’s love to people in our own community and around the globe.

She extends her hand to the poor; and she stretches out her hands to the needy. | PROVERBS 31:20

The following organizations have numerous volunteer opportunities that could be a good fit for you. For more information, contact Stephanie Gresh

Alternatives Pregnancy Center

Alternatives Pregnancy Center // Visit the Website

Volunteers at Alternatives Pregnancy Center educate clients and youth about abstinence before marriage as well as renewed abstinence. They enable those facing the difficulties of an unintended pregnancy to make informed decisions while listening to women’s circumstances and needs. Volunteers also encourage women who have conflicted emotions about a past abortion through leading post-abortion support groups. Your gift of time and compassion to a woman encourages her to choose the gift of life. For information, visit the Alternatives Pregnancy Center website.

Imagine the joy of a child in an impoverished country opening a box filled with toys and gifts. The tradition of giving continues at Mission Hills, as we collect small toys, school supplies, and personal items, to fill shoeboxes to send children around the world through the Samaritan’s Purse organization.

Mission Hills will continue to be the collection center for the Denver’s SW area. Distribution of OCC shoeboxes will begin in late October, the deadline to return your shoeboxes to Mission Hills is Sunday, November 20. Along with a shoebox, each child receives a copy of the gospel message allowing them to read about Jesus and how to have a life lived abundantly in Him. To be a part of this exciting ministry, look for notices to sign up, and help make a difference in a child’s life. If you are interested in serving, sign up online beginning in October.

Serve Global

One of our focus areas in outreach at Mission Hills Church is to help women in need. Women’s Ministry is excited to answer God’s call to do just that with exciting opportunities to minister around the world through short-term mission trips. Around the world, women have many things in common. Perhaps you’re not sure what you could offer; however, anyone can be used by God to minister to others. These short-term trips will challenge and bless you, and you will return transformed in some way. Our God is a big God, and He does amazing work on each trip.

2018 will feature several women’s opportunities. Watch for details in the November Missions booklet.

For more information on all trips, contact Leslia Castagna or visit our list of short-term mission trips.
