Mission Hills Sports & Rec Ministry Wants YOU
Mission Hills Sports & Rec Ministry exists to train disciples for Jesus, transform lives, build relationships, and provide a common ground for men and women to connect with others who enjoy sports and outdoor events. As we begin our fourth year, we are making several changes to encourage even more involvement and to generate a focus on mission, and not simply recreation.

Let’s hit the hardwood for some five-on-five, full-court basketball. This recreational league is fun and competitive and is a great way to get a little exercise and meet other Mission Hills guys. All games will be played at Mountain Ridge Middle School at 10585 Mountain Vista Ridge in Highlands Ranch. There will be two games at 8:00 a.m. and two games at 9:00 a.m. This is a self-officiated league in which participants will call their own fouls. The league will consist of a seven game regular season and a three game season-ending tournament.
New Game Format:
Each game will feature a 55-minute running clock. Within that time frame, teams will play two games to 21 points with baskets counting for 1 point (regular shots) and 2 points (if beyond the 3 point arc). The first team to reach 21 point is awarded the win (must win by two points).
In an effort to encourage new friendships and league parity, we are changing the way teams are formed. You may request to be on a team with one other guy. The other player must also request to play with you. Remaining individuals will be placed on teams by the Sports & Rec management team. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. A signed waiver and $45 payment is required from each participant.
New 45+ Division:
This year we will be trying something new with the implementation of a 45+ age division. Details will be determined as we evaluate interest. If we do not have enough interest to generate separate teams, players will be blended into other teams.
Space is limited to 80 players, so register early. Sign up at the Ministry and Event Center November 1, 2, 8, and 9. The deadline to register is Sunday, November 23. Teams will be formed the following week. Team captains will contact their teams and provide game schedules.
