Volunteer Opportunities

Entryway Ministry


Do you believe that first impressions can make a huge impact?  Do you feel that creating an accepting and inviting environment is a must?  Great! So do we.

Opportunities:

Traffic – Direct traffic flow and assist guests with parking
Shuttle Driver – Provide on-campus transport to and from parking lot
Ushers / Greeters – Greet guests, provide programs and assist with seating
Guest Services – Provide information and connection points for guests attending services, assist with event registrations 
Check-In Facilitator – Assist families at the child check-in kiosks
Campus Guides – Help guests find their way around the church campus
White Glove Care – Maintain an inviting environment throughout all services
Medical Response – Respond to on-campus medical emergencies (training and CPR certification provided)

Connections Ministry


Having people get connected at Mission Hills is a high priority. If you’d like to be involved in helping people find their niche, this ministry is for you.


Opportunities:

Adult Sunday School Service Team – Help with Sunday school-related projects
Connect – Set-up, tear-down, return coffee boxes 
Entryway – Greeters, guest service representatives, and ushers to provide a warm
welcome
Membership – People (couples) to come alongside Bob Johnson to teach and organize the Membership Program
Local Outreach Teams – Help with local outreach projects 
Pastoral Care – One caring person a month to handle hospital/home visits
Starting Point – Leaders to lead a class twice a year
Set-Up Team – Help set-up and tear down, hang signs, set-up lobby, etc. once a month (before and after church and special events)
Special Events – Teams (preferably friends) to plan and prepare for lunches and special events once or twice a year
Kindness teamTeam to buy gifts and stuff gift bags for special events/
welcome/thank yous
Block Pary Lunch Coordinator  – Organize and execute lunch events for those new to the church (once a quarter)
Plugged-In Class  – Teach and follow-up on the Plugged-In class attendees

Campus Support


Are you an “aesthetics” person?  Does keeping things looking good – and running well – give you a sense of joy and accomplishment?  If that’s you, then we have some opportunities right up your alley …

Opportunities:

Snow Removal
Facility Setup and Teardown – Help by setting up or tearing down after events.
White Glove Care – Maintain an inviting environment throughout services.
Interior Decorating – Work with other talented people to decorate for special 
occasions and for facility improvement projects.
Security – Provide safety for all guests, including children (training is provided).

Community Impact


We invest a lot to make Mission Hills a safe place for people to learn they matter to God.  But we also want to get the church into the community.

Opportunities:

Home and Health Ministry– Provide food and clothing to hurting people. 
Twisted Wrench – Provide assistance with basic auto care for those in need.
Operation Christmas Child – Help assemble Christmas boxes for needy children.

Office and Accounting


Opportunities:

Offering Counting Team – Count offerings received during weekend services and/ or special events.
Deposit Counting, Preparation and Processing
Receptionist Relief – Fill in for receptionist during lunch hour or staff meetings, etc.
Data Entry – Help with tracking attendance or other special projects.
Administration – Help with photocopies, assembling mailings, other special 
projects.

Children’s Ministry


Come help us create the best hour of a kid’s week.

 

Opportunities:

 

Infants – Interact, cuddle, feed, rock to sleep – and yes, change diapers
Toddlers – Interact, play, read, assist with snack – and yes, change diapers
2s –  Interact, play, assist or prepare activities, assist with snack, participate in 
corporate worship time and maybe change diapers
3s – 5s – Interact, assist or prepare activities, assist with snack, participate in 
corporate worship time, have fun and maybe assist with potty training accidents
Elementary (kindergarten through 5th grade) – Teaching through drama, play, lead small groups, supervise activities
Creative Arts – Provide creative energy for the children’s weekend services through worship, drama, sound, lights, and media
Administration – Copying, prepping curriculum for Sunday mornings, etc.
Facilities – Set-up/tear-down for Children’s Sunday School classes
Sports Camp – Coaches, assistants, administrative

Youth Ministry (Junior High and High School)


Opportunities:

Audio/Visual/Lighting Technicians – Help run soundboards, lighting systems and visual media.  Experience is preferred, but we are able to train.
Child-Care – Childcare for our volunteer staff
Event Chaperones – Help keep our students safe and accounted for.
Guest Services – Assist us in welcoming our guests.
Prayer Team – If you believe in the power of prayer we want you on this team. 
Program Team – If you like crowd breakers, drama, or other up-front roles and have tons of energy and enthusiasm, we want you on our program team.
Security Team – Provided security at youth events by monitoring the building and keeping youth from wandering into restricted areas 
Small Group Leaders – We need volunteers who will invest in the lives of our youth.Time commitment: every Tuesday night (6-9 p.m.) and Winter Camp (usually the last weekend in February)
Snack Bar Coordinator – Responsible for stocking and maintaining inventory, 
running the snack bar and arranging volunteers to help
