MINISTRY
JoAnn Hunt has served in our Home and Health Ministry since 1996. Currently, serving as Co-Director with Sandra Shive, they’re responsible for providing food, clothing, helping hands, and loving hearts to those in need. Home and Health Ministry serves nearly 100 families a month, and has over 20 volunteer workers. JoAnn provides a special measure of care to all she meets and with whom she serves.
EDUCATION
JoAnn earned a degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado (then known as Colorado State College). JoAnn taught special education and second grade. She also served as the director of the Child Development Center at Arapahoe Community College for almost 20 years.
FAMILY
JoAnn has been married to Dave for 46 years, and they have two sons. Scott (43), and his wife, Sherrie, live in Anthem, Arizona, with their children (and JoAnn and Dave’s grandchildren) Jake, Jordan, and Josh. Their second son, Chris (40), works locally at the Community College of Aurora.
PERSONAL
JoAnn was born in Cullman, Alabama, and has lived in Colorado since she was 10 years old. The Hunts have attended Mission Hills since 1983. In addition to Home and Health Ministry, Dave and JoAnn also enjoy serving in Meals On Wheels together. JoAnn also volunteers at Mark Twain Elementary school, working with students there. If this weren’t enough, JoAnn enjoys serving in Bright Beginnings, where she delivers beautiful blankets made by the Mission Hills’ Jane Sager Sewing Circle to new babies in our church.
