We want to encourage you to share your time with others – reaching out either at a one-time event or on an ongoing basis. Mission Hills women are proactive about reaching out with Christ’s love to people in our own community. There are many opportunities to serve. Watch for announcements in the worship folder or on the Mission Hills web site about upcoming opportunities to serve. If you are interested in outreach, please be sure to add your name to our outreach e-mail list at the Ministry and Event Center.
This is a Mission Hills Women in Need partner, providing faith-based life skills, Bible studies, personal mentoring, and on-the-job training through their second-hand store and cleaning business for girls and women coming out of domestic violence, prison, drug and alcohol abuse and prostitution. Second Chances has had a high rehabilitation success rate for over 10 years. Within the next two months, with the assistance of Mission Hills, Second Chances hopes to open a second thrift store in Littleton. They need women’s clothing and all children's items in good condition (cribs, strollers, high chairs, swings, car seats - less than five years old, toys, and clothing size birth through 16). Please bring your gently-used items to the bookstore in the lobby during the month of May.
Open Door Ministries embraces the needy and broken people of urban Denver in a variety of ways. Ongoing opportunities are available to minister specifically to women and their children in the inner city. These women have chosen to leave their destructive ways with the help of a strong Christian support system through Open Door, and many find new life in Christ.
We will be planning several events with this ministry over the course of the year. There is always a need for baby sitting, leading a small group discussion, mentoring, building one-on-one relationships, service projects, or the purchase of household items or gift cards. The time is now to reach out to others and give.

Open Door Ministry's Treasure House, a home for single moms with young children, is in need of a tall bedroom dresser, twin size bed frame and mattress set, and a wooden toy box. If you can donate any of these items, please contact Open Door Ministries at www.odmdenver.org or 303.830.2201.
Hope House works to empower teenage moms to break unhealthy, often generational, cycles and offers teen moms and their children hope for a brighter future by providing the resources, education, and support they need to build strong, healthy, loving homes for their children. We have had an ongoing relationship with Hope House by painting rooms, providing meals for residents and staff, and gathering household items to stock their bathrooms and kitchen. Another simple and easy way we have supported the ministry is by individuals signing up to provide $20 gift cards every few months. These gifts cards are used to provide necessities for the moms or needed household items. If you would like to be a part of the ministry to help transform the lives of teenage moms at Hope House, contact Jennifer Torrigino at 303-792-3484 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Volunteers at Alternatives Pregnancy Center educate clients and youth about abstinence before marriage and renewed abstinence. They enable those facing the difficulties in an unintended pregnancy to make informed decisions while listening to women’s circumstances and needs. Volunteers also encourage women who have conflicted emotions about a past abortion through leading Post-Abortion Support Groups. Your gift of time and compassion to a woman encourages her to choose the gift of life. Contact Elisabeth Buchholz at 303-298-8815 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
