When and Where Do They Meet?
Life Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes. Most evening groups meet from about 7 to 9 pm.
How Long Do They Last?
Each Life Group semester lasts 8 to 12 weeks. We have Fall and Winter/Spring sessions. At the end of each semester, you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or taking a break. Most groups stay together throughout the entire year. Life Groups do not formally meet during the summer but varies depending on the group dynamics.
What is my commitment?
Joining a Life Group requires a 8 to 12 week commitment to attend weekly or bi-weekly (depending on the group) meetings and do the homework ahead of time. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts, and other special events, but not much more. This commitment is the key to a strong Life Group. You have the first three to four meetings to attend the group to make sure it's a good fit for you.
How often will Life Groups meet?
Minimum of two times per month
What is sermon-based curriculum?
Thiis is questions based on the study of that week’s sermon that the Life Group will review. Curriculum is available on the Life Groups webpage on the weekend, prior to the sermon.
Meeting twice a month? How will that work?
The group will decide together which weeks during the month to meet. Most fequently the group will meet every other week. Others will meet every other week and when there is a 5th meeting week for the month they will do a service project together.
Can there be other curriculum?
Yes. Life Group ministry will have other suggested curriculum. Click here for a list.
How Do I Choose A Group?
When selecting a group, we strongly recommend you choose a group based on its leader-host team and station-in-life, rather than its location. Over the years, we've found that groups do best when members share a common station-in-life and other interests with their leaders, hosts, and other group members. In the end, you'll find it's worth the drive!
How Do I Sign Up For A Life Group?
Before each Life Group semester begins there are three ways to sign up for a group – online, during our Sunday services at the Ministry Center, or attending a Get Connected Sunday.
What About Childcare?
We leave it up to each family or group to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter, to “swap” childcare with another family whose Life Group meets on a different evening, having childcare in the basement of your home or each family being responsible for their own childcare.
